تتوجه هذه الدراسة لجميع المعنيين بفن الصورة ابتداءً من الفن التشكيلي وصولاً إلى الصورة المرئية المقترنة بالصوت والحركة التي صارت جزءاً أساسياً من حضارة اليوم فهي صورة تنتقل حاملة شيفرات المكان، صورة تنتقل من الثبات إلى الحركة. وقد ارتكزت الدراسة على تسع مباحث قدم المبحث الأول منها تمهيداً أولياً للتعريف بالمكان والصورة بشكل أولي. أما الثاني فبحث في الإطار المفاهيمي للمكان بجذره اللغوي ثم بالقسيم المكان ودرس المبحث الثالث الأشكال والهيئات المكانية فيما يتصل بالمعطيات الثابتة للصورة.
وقدم المبحث الرابع محصلة لبناء المكان المسعبصري من ناحية العناصر الذاتية التي تشمل خصائص هذا المكان وعناصره الأولية بترابطات الأشياء والموجودات بما حولها وبما يشكل نوعاً من العلاقة الإنشائية. وفي المبحث الخامس تم إثبات الحركة من خلال وسائل التعبير التي تسهم في بناء المكان. وفي المبحث السادس تم التطرق لموضوع تأويل المكان في الصورة وإحالة المكان إلى رموزه ودلالاته عبر العمل الإبداعي، وفي المبحث السابع تمت دراسة ثنائية الصورة والمكان من خلال النص الروائي والفيلم السينمائي عبر وسيطهما السيناريو.
أما المبحث الثامن من مخصص لدراسة الأثر المكاني والصورة التسجيلية، وفي المبحث التاسع تم تطبيق المعطيات المتعلقة بالأثر المكاني في الصورة التسجيلية وفي هذين المبحثين الأخيرين وضع الباحث فرضية خاصة به أسماها الأثر المكاني واجتهد في إثباتها من خلال الفن السمعي والبصري.
