مع ازدياد الاهتمام الإسرائيلي بالقضايا اللبنانية، كثرت المقالات والدراسات الصهيونية حول التاريخ اللبناني، كجزء من اهتمام الكيان الصهيوني بدراسة وتحليل التطورات التي تجري في المنطقة، بغية توظيفها في السياسة العدوانية للدولة الإسرائيلية. وهذا ليس بجديد على الدول ذات الأهداف الاستعمارية. فقد بدأ الإنكليز والفرنسيون نشاطات مشابهة منذ أوائل القرن التاسع عشر وحتى ما قبله، ويتابع صنائعهم الإسرائيليين العمل، وهم يعتمدون في ذلك على الأرشيف الواسع الذي يضعه صانعوهم تحت تصرفهم بغية الإفادة المشتركة بالطبع. هذا الكتاب إذن هو تحليل صهيوني يعتمد النظرة الصهيونية للأمور كقاعدة لفهم مجريات الأحداث في لبنان، فهو لا يقسم اللبنانيين إلى طوائف فحسب بل وغلى قوميات، وذلك كي يضمن لنفسه الحق بالوجود كقومية أخرى في هذه البوتقة منها. وإننا إذ نقدم لقرائنا هذا الكتاب، يهمنا أن نعرف طريقة تفكير عدونا وأسلوب عمله، الأمر الذي نعاني عواقبه كل لحظة في هذا البلد، وذلك على قاعدة العين بالعين والسن بالسن، فعدونا دائب على دراسة طرق تفكيرنا وأسلوب عملنا، هذا ما أمن له النجاح حتى الآن, كذلك يشرح هذا الكتاب لحظات من تاريخ لبنان غفل مؤرخونا الرسميون عنها أو حاولوا طمسها، فيعرضها تحت أنوار جديدة تعيدها إلى الصدارة، وذلك بسبب أهمية استذكارها في لحظات مصيرية كهذه التي نمر بها.
