لماذا تتعدد القراءات حول النص الأدبي؟ ولما تختلف المناهج فيما بينها في تعاملها معه رغم تميز النص بأدبيته؟ وما السبب في تعدد وإختلاف الطرائق والوسائل الأجرائية المستعملة في عملية تلقي النص الأدبي؟ وهناك سؤال مركزي يجب أن يطرح هو: لماذا يظل النص الأدبي في عالمنا العربي ضحية الطرائق البالية التي تقتل النص وتسكته، خاصة في منظومتنا التربوية التي ما زالت تعتمد على تكديس المعلومات وحشوها، بدلاً من صقلها وتوجيهها نحو الإستفادة من النظريات والمناهج الحديثة؟.
إنطلاقاً من هذه الإشكالات كان موضوع هذا البحث الذي يتناول فيه المؤلف مختلف مستويات تلقي النص الأدبي وذلك من خلال مقدمة، وأربعة فصول ألحقها بخاتمة والملاحق.
في المقدمة، طرح المؤلف إشكالية البحث، وفي الفصل الأول: تطرق إلى مفهوم التلقي عند الشكلانيين الروس وبعدها انتقل إلى شرح نظرية التلقي، أما الفصل الثاني الموسوم بــ: "المستوى التأويلي" فقد بدأ فيه بتوضيح علم الفينومينولوجيا وفن التأويل، موضحاً الأسس التي يقوم عليها هذا الفن، وفي الفصل الثالث المعنون بــ"المستوى اللساني الوصفي" ركز فيه على ثلاثة جوانب أساسية، ذكر في الأول الجانب الوصفي، أما الجانب الثاني فقد تمحور حول لسانيات الخطاب، والجانب الثالث خصص للمجال التطبيقي.
وفي الفصل الرابع - والأخير - الموسوم بــ"المستوى الوظيفي لتلقي الحكاية" تطرق إلى المستوى السطحي موضحاً أهم المصطلحات التي يعتمد عليها الخطاب السردي، مبيناً كيفية توزيعها وتطورها عبر الحكي؛ وفي الأخير لجأ إلى الخاتمة، ثم ذيل البحث ببعض الملاحق.
