يشكل الديوان الشاعر ماهر شرف الدين الموسوم بـ "حصاة في كليتي اليسرى" حالة خاصة عاشها الشاعر مع مرضه، وجسدها عبر رؤية شعرية يسجل فيها، لا بل يستنطق عبرها حركة الناس من حوله في المستشفى من أطباء وممرضين وأهل. ويتمظهر هذا المنظور الشعري في مستويات دلالية متعددة تبث إرساليتها في عدة اتجاهات، فالنص الشعري عند ماهر شرف الدين يتوفر على قدر من التنوع والتداخل والقض في طبقاته السيمولوجية، وهذا الخلق الفني يؤسس له عبر تراكمية تتداخل فيها الأشكال والهياكل الجمالية للقصيدة لتسع مع كل جملة وحرف..
في القصيدة المعنونة "حصاة في كليتي اليسرى" والتي افتتح بها الشاعر ديوانه يقول: "حصاة كبيرة في كليتي اليسرى/ فجروها بالليزر مساء البارحة/ حصاة سببها مياه الحسكة الكلسية/ التي شربتها في طفولتي/ يا أمي،/ لقد فجروا لي/ آخر ذكرى/ أحملها من مكان طفولتي(...)". إن الشاعر هنا يستعير مغترباً حسياً قريباً من صورة أرضه وطفولته، فأفلح في المزاوجة بين الذهني والتصويري عبر نسق رؤيوي تجريدي يقوده إلى الوراء إلى أيام الطفولة رغم الألم الذي رافقه في رحلة علاجه هذا...
