Book Description
موضوع هذا الكتاب هو "الجهود اللغوية من القرن الرابع عشر الهجري في الوطن العربي والعالم الغربي الناطق باللغة الإنجليزية"، ويضم دراسته تميزت بالشمولية والإتساع، بحيث ضمت العالم العربي والغربي الناطق باللغة الإنجليزية فيما يتعلق بالببليوغرافيات المتصلة بالمؤلفات المتعلقة باللغة العربية.
وجاء الكتاب ضمن بابين وخاتمة، تبعها فهارس متنوعة، ثم تخصص الباب الأول ببليوغرافيا تبرر الجهود العربية في ذاك المجال، وشمل ذلك فصولاً ثلاثة الأول منها ببليوغرافيا المجامع اللغوية والجامعات والمؤسسات والرسائل الجامعية ثم ببليوغرافيا شملت الكتب والمقالات في كلّ من الفصلين الثاني والثالث.
وأما الباب الثاني فقد تم التركيز فيه على الجهود الغربية باللغة الإنجليزية، وشمل فصولاً ثلاثة: ضم الفصل الأول ببليوغرافيا توضح ما قدمته حركة الإستشراق مع ببليوغرافيا لبيان ما قدمته في مجال تحقيق التراث العربي ودراسته ونقده، ثم بيلوغرافيا للكتب ثم للمقالات والبحوث في كل من الفصلين الثاني والثالث.
وأما الخاتمة فقد حاول المؤلف من خلالها تقييم الجهود اللغوية في العالم العربي والجهود اللغوية في العالم الغربي الناطق باللغة الإنجليزية، وثم ترتيب مواد الببليوغرافيا بحسب المؤلف، بالإبتداء باسم العائلة واسمه واسم أبيه، وثم تزييل الكتاب بفهارس شاملة يفيد منها الباحث، شملت فهارس للمؤلفين والمحققين والمترجمين، وفهارس للدوريات العربية وغير العربية، وكذا قوائم للجامعات الغربية والعربية التي بها دوائر ومراكز للغة العربية، وإحصائيات مختلفة.
وأخيراً تم تضمين الكتاب قوائم بالمصطلحات اللغوية: إنجليزي - عربي لتكون عوناً لمن يحاول الإتصال بتلك الكتب والمقالات، ولا بد من الإشارة إلى أن المؤلف عمد إلى تقسيم الكتب والمقالات العربية إلى مجالات مختلفة كالدراسة المتصلة بالقرآن الكريم والدراسات النحوية والصرفية، والدراسات المتصلة بالمعجم العربي... إلخ وذلك تسهيلاً على الباحث المتخصص ليجد الجهود المتصلة بمجال ما، مدرجةٍ في عنوان واحد يسهل حصره والإستفادة منه.
