يضم هذا الكتاب مجموع الافتتاحيات التي كتبها جوزف سماحة في جريدة "الأخبار" اللبنانية تحت عنوان "خط أحمر" و"الأخبار" يومية لبنانية ولدت في غمار الحرب الإسرائيلية التي شنت صيف العام 2006. لقد كان جوزف سماحة يعبر في خطه الأحمر عن انتماءه وعروبته، تلك التي جعلته في قلب المقاومة لأجل حرية فلسطين، كل فلسطين. ولأجل حرية العراق، كل العراق، ولأجل حرية لبنان، كل لبنان. وكان يكلف نفسه مهمة "فضح الأعداء" الذين يختبئون خلف أسوارهم العالية، فكان لهم بالمرصاد بقلمه وعقله وروحه فبل كل شيء.
تمتد مقالات هذا الكتاب بين عامي (2006-2007) نذكر من عناوينها: ولادة من غير حمل، حسابات خاطئة، كلفة الانتصار البخس، ثغرة في الجدار، توقيت صائب... إلخ.
