رَأَيْتُ وأَنا في طَريقي إلى المَدْرَسَة في هَذا الصَّباح، صَبيّاً لم يَتَجاوَزِ التّاسِعَةَ مِنْ عُمْرِهِ يَسيرُ في وَسَطِ الطَّريقِ ويَحْمِلُ بِيَدِهِ مَزْهَرِيَّةً مَليئَةً بالوُرودِ الحَمْراء.
مِئَةُ سُؤالِ وسُؤالِ دارَتْ في رأسي وأَنا أَنْظُرُ إِلَيْه فيما حَافِلَةُ المَدْرَسَةِ تَمُرُّ مِنْ أمامِهِ، هُوَ لَمْ يَرَني، شَعَرْتُ أَنَّ لَهُ عالماً خاصّاً بِهِ وكَأَنَّهُ لا يَرى ولا يَسْمَعُ شَيْئاً مِنْ حَوْلِه.
قُلْتُ: "هَذا لَيْسَ عَدْلاً، هُوَ طِفْلٌ يَجِبُ أَنْ يَتَعَلَّمُ وأَنْ يَلْعَبَ، وأَنْ يَكونَ لَهُ بَيْتٌ وَعائِلَةٌ وحَيَاةٌ آمِنَة...".
