لقد أصبح الفلسطينيون عموماً أسرى لمنظومة الشعارات، والتراث السياسيّ والسرديّ لحقبة ما بعد النكبة والشتات، والمعاناة التي رافقتها، والنضال والبطولات والآمال والآلام المختلفة الّتي أعقبتها؛ وأصبح التخلّص من كل ذلك أمراً تزداد صعوبته بإزياد قوّة العدو الإسرائيليّ من جهة، وتفاقم الفشل العربي والفلسطيني في تحقيق أي إنجاز على طريق تحرير فلسطين من جهةٍ أخرى، وتنامي الإستعداد لدى الأنظمة العربيّة والقيادة الفلسطينية، بل وحتّى الرغبة في قبول إسرائيل والإعتراف بها والتعامل معها كحليف إقليميّ.
المطلوب الآن دمٌ فلسطينيّ جديد، وفكرّ فلسطيني جديد، ومفهوم فلسطينيّ جديد لكيفيّة إدارة الصراع عوضاً عن الإستسلام له، أمّا مسارات العمل الفلسطينيّ التي ثبت فشلها حتّى الآن، فيجب التخلّص منها لصالح خيارات جديدة تستند إلى الثوابت الوطنيّة، وتوفر صمّام أمانٍ ضدّ الشطط والتسيّب.
