بنظر فيبر تفيد هذه النظريات، وما تنطوي عليه من مقولات ومفاهيم، معنى أدوات تحليلية مدخلية من أجل قراءة الواقع... وبذلك فإن الكفاءة المعرفية للنظرية تبقى عرضة للنقد والتجاوز وذلك في ضوء ما يقدمه الواقع من معطيات، وبهذا المعنى فإن العمل على تنظيم المادة (الموضوع) داخل إطار نسق مفاهيمي، عبر عملية بناء متدرجة لهذا النسق عن طريق مشاهد وتحليل الإنتظامات التجريبية، وعن طريق بناء الفرضيات واختبارها، وصولاً إلى مرحلة بناء نظرية علمية مكتملة، أي علم إستنباطي، ما هو إلاّ وهم نظري ومنهجي مكبل للعمل المعرفي، عندما ينظر للمقولات المعرفية كما لو أنها تشير إلى ماهيات وحقائق كامنة وراء الواقع، أي قوانين وإتجاهات ناظمة لبنية الواقع وحركته.
