هذا كتاب تعليمي في أصول المنطق الرياضي، وهو يغطي ما يعرف بمنطق الروابط (القضايا) ومنطق الأسوار (المحمولات) بالغاً مرحلة القضايا المتعددة الأسوار، وهي المرحلة التي تقصر عنها أغلب المؤلفات العربية، مع أنه فيها هي يكمن مغزى المنطق الحديث قياساً بالمنطق الأرسطي.
وهو يعتمد طريقة المشجرات للبت في الأحكام المنطقية للقضايا ومجموعة القضايا وعلاقاتها، والكتاب يعتني بالتمييز بين المستويين النحوي (التركيبي) والتفسيري (الدلالي)، ويستكمل ذلك في خاتمته بمباحث المنطق الماورائي لطريقة المشجرات.
وهذه المباحث يندر أن يتوافر عليها كتاب باللغة العربية، ويقوم منهج الكتاب على صياغة دقيقة للتعريفات والقواعد، ثم على توضيح مضامينها بالأمثلة وبالقدر الكافي من التمرينات، ويعتمد في التعريب - مهما أمكن - على الإصطلاحات التقنية المتداولة في المتون العربية القديمة، كما يعتمد الحروف والخطوط العربية في بناء نظام ترميزٍ واضح وعملي.
