بعد صدور الجزء الأول من سلسلة السبيل إلى إتقان اللغة العربية فهماً تطبيقاً وكان مدار بحثه النحو العربي، نصدر الجزء الثاني والذي جعلنا الصرف مجال بحثه.
وليس ثمة أنسب في معالجة قضايا هذا الفن من لامية الأفعال، لأهميتها وأهمية صاحبها الإمام ابن مالك رحمه الله تعالى.
وقد اعتمدنا في منهجية كتابته ما اعتمدناه في الجزء الأول من إقتضاب دون إخلال، مما يخِفُّ تدبره على الأفكار وتسهل مطالعته على القلوب والأبصار، ولو زدنا لخرج عن الغرض المقصود وبرز عن السنن المحمود، وهو أمر غير منشود.
ولعل الإضافة التي يمكن أن يقدمها هذا الكتاب بين أمثاله من الشروح، أنه يدمج المتون التي يشرحها بمزيد من الإضافات والتعليقات ناثراً ذلك كله نثراً في ثنايا الكتاب.
فلم يسلك ما سلكه بعض شراح المنظومات من إيراد البيت كاملاً ثم يعقبه الشرح، بل يُجزئ البيت أجزاء ويشرح كل جزء على حدة، مما ييسر للقارئ السبيل نحو الولوج إلى بوابة عظيمة اسمها لامية الأفعال لرجل عظيم وهو الإمام ابن مالك رحمه الله رحمة واسعة.
