هذا العمل السردي التراثي الذي شكل إنزياحاً حقيقياً عن المسار التخييلي الرسمي المحصور سلفاً بتخوم حددها العقل العربي المستمد مشروعيته من الإيديولوجية الدينية الرسمية، مؤسساً بذلك، تخييلاً متمرداً تشكلت عناصر تكوينه إنطلاقاً من الواقع الذي كانت تعيشه الفئات الشعبية التي ساهمت في تأليفه وصياغته وبلورته، والتي جعلت منه نصاً يتيماً، لا ينتمي إلى أب معين يفرض عليه إطارات جامدة، لا يمكنه تجاوزها إن على مستوى المبنى أو المعنى، وإن كانا متداخلين فيما بينهما تداخلا كلياً يجعلهما وجهين بصورة واحدة.
هذا اليتيم هو الذي جعل هذا النص السردي التراثي يتسم أيضاً يحكي متعددة أشكاله وأنساقه، والتي سنسعى إلى تبيانها ودراستها، مستفيدين في ذلك من الأعمال الرائدة التي قام بها الشكلانيون الروس خصوصاً في دراساتهم التي اهتم بالسرد، ومعتمدين أيضاً على السرديات الفرنسية، لا سيما الإتجاه الحصري الذي تمثله كل من أعمال تزيفتان تودوروف وجيرار جنيت، على أساس أن أعمالهما التي قاما بها في مجال دراسة السرد، تعتبر تتمة وتجديداً لما سبق من أبحث سردية في هذا الإتجاه كما تشير كل الدراسات التي تناولت هذه الأعمال إلى ذلك.
