عرف الكثيرون الشيخ رمزي دمشقية، فكان رحيله فاجعة أصابتهم. إعتنى بدراسة العلم الشرعي، ولزم شيوخ عصره فقرأ عليهم وأجازوه منهم الشيخ عبد الفتاح أبو غدة والشيخ محمد ياسين الغاداني المكي، ومسند الشام الشيخ أحمد نصيب المحاميد.
وتولى التدريس في كلية الشريعة بأزهر لبنان ولم يكن يتقاضى أجراً عن عمله. وهو صاحب دار البشائر الإسلامية أسسها متوخياً من ذلك نشر العلم، وخدمة الكتاب. وقد إستطاع خلال فترة عمله في الدار أن يخرج إلى النور كثيراً من الكنوز والذخائر، وكان حيصاً على الجودة العلمية، بفحص كل ما ينشر غير عابئ بالربح إلا بالقدر الذي يجعله يستمر في أداء رسالته. كما كان الشيخ رمزي دمشقية محققاً أخرج الكثير من الذخائر العلمية، وكان يعتني بتحقيق النص وتدقيقه وإخراجه والتعليق عليه.
وهذا الكتاب الذي أصدرته الدار بعد رحيله يضم رسائل وفاء، بأقلام معارفه ومحبيه يضمنونها آرائهم وإنطباعاتهم وشهاداتهم حيث زامله ورافقه البعض منهم وقتاً طويلاً أتاح له معرفة الرجل عن قرب.
