يشهد هذا الكتاب على رحلة في الأرض المقدسة (بين مصر والحجاز) قام بها الأستاذ إبراهيم بن محمد حبيب مرافقاً لوالده في سنة 1938م. لأداء فريضة الحج سجل خلالها انطباعاته ومذكراته عن تلك الرحلة، وقد نهج في كتابتها نهجاً قصصياً، ليكون سهل التناول، شيّق العرض، مع الحرص على ذكر المناسك الدينية في مكان أدائها ووقتها، وعرضها لمن أراد الإسترشاد بها اثناء الحج بالإضافة إلى جدول يبيّن مناسك الحج في المذاهب الفقهية الأربعة.
تأتي أهمية الكتاب من كونه يواكب بداية عهد التطور في البلاد السعودية، البلاد التي وحّدها الملك عبد العزيز آل سعود رحمه الله، فضم الحجاز للدولة السعودية في سنة 1945م. وهذه الرحلة كانت في سنة 1938م. أي أنها جاءت بعد فترة وجيزة من هذا التاريخ، وهي الفترة القليلة التي استطاع الملك نشر الأمن في أنحاء الحرمين الشريفين.
قام بتحقيق هذه الرحلة والإعتناء بها فائز الرويلي، وقدم لها علي محمد بركة بعرض شيّق اعتتبر فيه "الرحلة مثار وجدانيات دينية حبيبة إلى قلوب المسلمين كافة، ودعوة يسيرة الإستجابة".
محتويات الكتاب: 1- حياة محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، 2- كيف نشأت فكرة الحج، 3- بداية الرحلة، 4- من جدة إلى مكة ومن الدار إلى الحرم، 5- تاريخ الكعبة، 6- وصف الكعبة، 7- الطواف حول الكعبة، 8- ماذا بالمسجد الحرام: مقام إبراهيم، مقامات الأئمة، (...)، وأخيراً: الإصلاحات التي تمت في الأراضي الحجازية 1938م.
