واجهت السيدة مريم ووليدها عيسى عليهما السلام كثيرًا من العناء، ولاقوا ما لاقوا من صلف اليهود وقسوتهم، فارتحلوا رحلة طويلة فارين بأرواحهم من أيدي هؤلاء الجفاة، فمسَّهم كثير من الجراح والآلام، وكانت إحدى محطات هذه الرحلة نزول العائلة المقدسة بمصر.
ففي طرح جديد بسيط يعرض هذا الكتاب –عزيزي القارئ- لكثير من تفاصيل هذه الرحلة، حسب ما ورد في نصوص التوراة والإنجيل التي بين أيدينا، مستأنسًا بإشارات القرآن الكريم حول مقام العائلة المقدسة ورحلتها مع الصبر والتحمل، فعرَّف الكتاب بمريم العذراء والنبي الكريم سيدنا عيسى عليهما السلام، ثم عرض لوصية الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم بأهل الذمة أجمعين، ثم بسط للرحلة التي بدأت في شمالي مصر، ثم في منطقة القاهرة، ثم في صعيد مصر حتى وصلت الدير المحرق، ثم يختم الكتاب بالإجابة على سؤال مهم مفاده: ماذا بعد الرحلة؟ ويجيب المؤلف بأن الرحلة كانت مقدمة إلهية لوضع خريطة جديدة بين المسلمين والمسيحيين حدودها التسامح والبر والإخاء.
