"لست أنا ذاك السجين الأول، لكنني كنت أولاً. فكل سجين هو سجين أول. أعدت اكتشاف السجن، مثل غيري، من جديد، لم أقبل ولم أسلّم باكتشافات السابقين، ففي السجن لا يوجد معلم ولا خبير ولا صاحب طريقة".
"ليس بداهة أن يكتب السجين عن سجنه كما يتخيل البعض. وليس واجباً عليه أن يروي حكايات السجن فضحاً للسجان. فالسجن بعد أن يمضي يتحول الى حكاية تافهة بالمقارنة مع معاناة السجين. لدرجة أن البعض يتجنب التطرق بالحديث إليها خشية حضور ذكرى آلامه. وأنا من هؤلاء البعض. فلم أحك عن سجني كثيراً طوال أربعة عشر عاماً مضت على خروجي منه، أذكره كثيراً، لكن ذكره غير حكايته. حكايته هي حكاية السجين وليست كلاماً عن السجن. وشتان بينهما، فالحديث عن السجن أهون وأيسر وأقل وجعاً، رغم أنه أكثر خطراً من الناحية الأمنية.
حكاية السجين حكاية مرارة وذل، أعترف بالخزي والخسارة. وحكاية السجن فعل انتقام وثأر وتعويض نفسي.. الآن قررت أن أدفن حكاية سجني وأعلن عليها الحداد، بأن أبوح ببعض حكاياتها على العلن.. توهمت أن سكوتي عن حكايات سجني سيمكنني من دفنها في خرابات الذاكرة. إذ قدّرت أن طيها وحجبها عن حضوري قد يمكنني من الإنعتاق منها ومن كبحها لعزيمتي. لكن تبين العكس من ذلك. فدفن إحساس السجن وتجربته هو عكس مألوف الدفن، فهو لا يتطلب الطمر بالتراب والحجارة عميقاً في الأسفل إبعاداً لرائحته وإقصاء لذكراه، بل يتطلب نبش قبور الذاكرة ونصب الجثة في مواجهة العين وتحت الأنف. أمام عينيّ وعيونكم حتى لو زكمت أنوفنا. فرائحة السجن لا تغور في الأعماق ولا تتحلل في البواطن، لا بد لها، لكي تهجرني، أن تملأ كل الأنوف.
الآن قررت أن أدفن حكاية سجني وأعلن عليها الحداد، بأن أبوح ببعض حكاياتها على العلن".
