هذا الكتاب يدرسُ سيرة فاطمة، وذلك من خلال الأخبار المرويّة عنها، فيرصد المحطّات الكبرى المميّزة لحياة فاطمة في التاريخ، سواء أكانت في ظل رعاية الرسول، أم بعد وفاته، وتحديد الأسباب، التي حملت العلماء المسلمين على الإنتقال بإبنه النبيّ صلى الله عليه وسلم من دائرة التاريخ إلى دائرة المتخيّل، وما اصطنعوه من طرائق وآليّات مكّنتهم من تحقيق الإنتقال المذكور.
لقد عيّن المؤلف وجوه حضور فاطمة في المتخيّل الإسلامي، وذلك بالإستناد إلى مقالات كبرى عُرفت عنها؛ مثل: نور فاطمة في الجنّة قبل خلق الكون والإنسان، وجود فاطمة في حُقّة تحت ساق العرش، الولادة العجيبة، طقوس البناء، رؤى فاطمة وكراماتها، فاطمة في القبر ويوم القيامة، عبور الصراط، القصاص من قتلة ابنيها، شفاعتها، مقامها في الجنّة...
وحرص على تفكيك العناصر المكوّنة لصورة فاطمة في الضمير الإسلامي، من جهة علاقة هذه الشخصيّة بغيرها من الشخصيّات المؤثّرة في حياتها، ومن جهة ملامح ظهورها في طقوس التعبّد، والأدعية، والإحتفالات، كما قام برصد الآليّات التي اعتُمِدت في بناء صورة فاطمة.
إنّنا إزاء صورة كبرى جامعة ينضوي تحتها عدد من الصور عن الشخصيّة ذاتها من نحو: صورة فاطمة البنت، وصورة فاطمة الزوجة، وصورة فاطمة الأم، وصورة فاطمة الشفيعة، وحضور فاطمة في طقوس التعبّد والأدعية، وحضورها في الإحتفالات الشيعيّة خاصّة.
