Book Description
يهدف الكتاب في العمق إلى البحث عن قيمة الإنسان أو عن الإنساني في الإنسان. فإذا كانت الثقافة في بعض تعريفاتها اقتصاداً في العنف من جهة، وتحول الإنسان من الوجود الطبيعي إلى الوعي بهذا الوجود من جهة ثانية، صحّ أن أبرز مظاهر هذا الوعي هو وعي الإنسان بإنسانيته، أي بعمق كينونته. وإذا كان جوهر الأنسنة احترام الإنسان، والإيمان بمغامرة العقل، والبحث في أقصى ممكنات الوجود البشري، فإننا اجتهدنا في البحث عن هذه المعاني في عصر النهضة العربية وتفكّرنا في أسئلة الراهن العربي كذلك. وقد بيّنّا آيات لها في الشعر والفلسفة والأدب والمناظرة، وفي الاحتفاء بقيم العلم والحرية والعدالة والتسامح، وفي هواجس التنوير والإصلاح.
لكننا نبّهنا في الوقت عينه إلى أن هذا المشروع، الذي رام الارتفاع بشأن الإنسان العربي في طفرة من الجدّ والحماسة، سرعان ما خبت جذواته. وربما كان المسيحيون العرب أهم من حمل لواء هذا المشروع. غير أنهم في سياق سلطان الخلافة الإسلامية لم يكونوا يمثلون ثقلاً قادراً على زعزعة الثوابت الاجتماعية والثقافية لإنسان لا يزال يشعر بذاته مجرد عنصر في جماعة لمّا كانت قيمة الفرد لم تتشكل موضوعاً للاستقلال اعتبارياً وحقوقياً. فضلاً عن أن العرب المسيحيين أنفسهم لم يكتنهوا بعمق تاريخية الإنسان وفرادة الثقافات التي تتشكل في أطر معرفية مخصوصة. أما المفكرون العرب المسلمون فإنهم لم يستطيعوا التخلص من الرؤية الدينية للعالم التي ما فتئت تشدّهم إلى الماضي في فهم الحياة والوجود الاجتماعي. وكان من نتائج هذا القصور العام القبول التسليمي للتراث والتمثل المشوش للحداثة.
بناء على ذلك تفكرنا في السبل الكفيلة بإعادة الاعتبار للإنسان بوصفه إنساناً في المستوى التربوي والقيمي والقانوني بحثاً عن أنسنة خليقة بالإنسان، لأننا نعتقد أن غياب هذه الأنسنة حالة لا أخلاقية أصلاً.
