إنّ الإشتغال بالعلم من أفضل الطاعات، وهو أولى ما تُنفَق فيه نفائس الأوقات، فإن تعلمه لله تعالى خشيته، ودراسته تسبيح، والبحث عنه جهاد، وطلبه عبادة، وتعليمه صدقة، وبذله لأهله قربة، فهو معلم الحلال والحرام، وبيان سبيل الجنة، والمؤنس في الوحشة والمُحَدِّث في الخلوة، والجليس في الوحدة، والصاحب في الغربة، والدليل إلى السراء، والمعين على الضراء، والسلاح على الأعداء، يفع الله تعالى به أقواماً فيجعلهم في الخير قادة، وفي الهدى أئمة يُقتضى بآثارهم وأفعالهم، ويُنتهى إلى رأيهم، وتحفهم الملائكة بأجنحتها، وتستغفر لهم في صلاتها، ويستغفر لهم كل رطب ويابس، حتى الحتيان في الماء، والعلم حياة القلب من الجهل ونور الأبصار والبصائر، وقوة الأبدان من الضعف، وبالعلم يبلغ العبد منازل الأخبار في الدرجات، ومجالسة الملوك في الدنيا، ومرافقة الأبرار في الآخرة، والفوز برضوان الله عزّ وجلّ.
وإذا كان الإشتغال بمطلق العلم يحقق السعادة في الدارين، إذا قصد به وجه الله تعالى، فإن الإشتغال بعلوم الشريعة الإسلامية من أكبر الأعمال التي تقرب العبد من ربه، وتغرس في قلبه السكينة التي تملأ القلب إيماناً بالله عزّ وجلّ وتجعله مطمئناً إلى الله تعالى وتجعل صاحبه أهلاً لخشية الله سبحانه وتعالى.
