(حاجز العالم الإسلامي) بأجزائه الأربعة رحلة في رحاب التاريخ يبدأ مؤلفه برسم ملامح حاضر منطقة الشرق الأوسط لفترة ما يعرف بانتهاء الإنتداب الغربي، وبدء مرحلة الإستقلال الواعد. جاء الكتاب من تأليف الصحافي الأميركي لوثرب ستودارد وفيه يحذر الغرب من نهضة إسلامية وشيكة وبأن عليهم أن يتداركوا الأمر قبل فوات الأوان وضمنه وصفاً شاملاً للعالم الإسلامي، ثم علق عليه البحاثة السياسي المخضرم (الملقب بأمر البيان) شكيب أرسلان خصب فيه درراً وفرائد لا تقدر قيمتها بثمن، وصف فيه الكثير من حال الأمة وأمراضها وسبل علاجها وبين جيل الغرب وأساليبهم في الكيد للمسلمين للوصول لتحقيق غاياتهم، وكان الرجل من الفطنة والذكاء ما حمَل كتابه: قواعد هامة يحتاج إليها الساسة في كل عصر والخاصة والعامة وكل من يهمه شأن المسلمين. لقد كان من أهمية هذا الكتاب أن ذاع في أوروبا والولايات المتحدة ذيوعاً عظيماً، وترجم إلى عدة لغات أوربية وأقبل عليه السياسيون واهتدوا به في الإحاطة بطبائع المسلمين والإنقلاب الإسلامي في آسية وأفريقيا، وقد وصفته إحدى المجلات الإنجليزية "بأن صاحبه إرميا القرن العشرين".
تضمنت مقدمة الكتاب (في نشوء الإسلام وارتقائه وانحطاطه) عرضاً موجزاً لتاريخ الإسلام منذ البعثة النبوية حتى نهاية الحرب العالمية الأولى جاء بعدها تسعة عشر فصلاً تناولت التطور السياسي والإقتصادي والإجتماعي للعالم الإسلامي وما رافق ذلك من أحداث.
