إن علمي العروض والقافية من أجل العلوم الأدبية ، الذي يتفرع من شجرة العلوم العربية ، وحاجة الشاعر إلى علم العروض والقافية كحاجة الإنسان للغذاء والشراب . ولما احتاج قارئ القرآن ومتعلم الحديث إلى علم النحو وإلى الشواهد . . احتاج إلى معرفة قواعد العروض لقبول الشاهد . ولقد بذل العلماء وسعهم لتيسير ذلك على الطلاب ، فنظموا في ذلك القصائد تيسيراً للحفظ لأولي الألباب ، فقعَّدوا القواعد ، وبيَّنوا المقاصد ، وممَّن أتحفنا في هذا العِلم : الإمام الخزرجي رحمه الله تعالى ، حيث نظم قصيدة من البحر الطويل ضمَّنها علمي العروض والقافية . ثم جاء العلامة محمد الأمين الهرري ـ أمدَّ الله في عمره ـ فبيَّن معانيها ، وفكَّ مبانيها ، وكشف رموزها ، وأظهر المراد فأفاد وأجاد . علم الخليل رحمةُ اللهِ عليهْ سببُهُ ميلُ الورى لسيبويهْ فخرج الإمام يسعى للحرَمْ يسألُ ربَّ البيت من فضل الكرَمْ فزاده علم العروض فانتشَرْ بين الورى فأقبلت له البشَرْ قال الشارح في مقدمة كتابه : ( وبعد أيضاً : هذا شرح شارح ، وبيان لائح ، وضعته على القصيدة الخزرجية المنظومة من بحر الطويل ، في علمي العروض والقوافي ، نظمها الشيخ البارع ، والعلم الساطع ، العلامة : ضياء الدين أبو محمد عبد الله بن محمد الخزرجي المالكي الأندلسي ـ طيَّب الله ثراه بصيِّب الرحمة والغفران ـ يَحلُّ معانيها ، ويفك مبانيها ، ويبين مرادها ، ويكشف رموزها ، وسميته بـ « المقاصد الجلية على القصيدة الخزرجية » . والله أسأل أن ينفع به النفع العميم ، لكل من تلقاه بقلب سليم ، وأن يجعله خالصاً لوجهه الكريم ، وسبباً للفوز بجنات النعيم ؛ إنه ذو الطول والفضل الواسع العميم ، والبر الجواد الكريم ) . فإليكم المقاصد الجلية على القصيدة الخزرجية ، أو سمِّها إن شئت : « الجواهر البارزة من خبايا الرامزة في فني العروض والقافية » نسأل الله تعالى النفع بها ، والسلامة والعافية .
