إن الدراسات الرشدية المغربيّة لم ترسم صورة موحدة منسجمة لفيلسوف قرطبة ومراكش، ولكنها رسمت له صوراً مختلفة ومتنوعة، بل متناقضة ومتضاربة، فقد وقفنا لى ثلاث صور متباينة بدأت معالمها تشكل منذ البدايات الأولى للدراسات المغربيّة حول ابن رشد، بمناسبة تنظيم ندوة "ابن رشد ومدرسته في الغرب الإسلامي" سنة 1978، واستمر ذلك التضارب في الموقف من أبي الوليد وفلسفته حتى كتابة هذه السطور.
بلغت نزعة تمجيد ابن رشد أوجها عند محمد عابد الجابري الذي دافع في جميع أبحاثه عن أطروحة مركزيّة، وهي أن الرشدية شكلت قطيعة إبيستمولوجيّة مع الفلسفة الإسلاميّة المشرقيّة... على المستويات كافة، المنهجيّة والمفاهيميّة والإشكاليّة، مما يجعلها، أي الرشيدية، مفتاحاً لتحررنا وتقدمنا، الفكري والعلمي والسياسي...
تعرضت أطروحات الجابري حول ابن رشد لانتقادات مختلفة، تباينت درجة حدتها من مفكر إلى آخر..
لكن النقد الجذري لأطروحة الجابري سيصل حدوده القصوى عند طه عبد الرحمن الذي وضع تصورات ابن رشد والجابري في خانة واحدة، سلط عليها كل ما استطاع إليه سبيلاً من معاول الهدم ووسائل التقويض، بلغت درجة الخروج عن قواعد الصناعة الفلسفيّة واللجوء إلى منطق الإتهام والتفكير العقدي... لم يكن طه عبد الرحمن وحيداً في نقده لابن رشد، بل نجد هذه النزعة حاضرة عند عدد من الباحثين المغاربة..
ثمة فرق بين الدراسات الرشدية المغربيّة والدراسات الرشدية المشرقيّة، ففي الوقت الذي نجد فيه النقاش قد احتدم في الساحة الفكريّة المغربيّة بين التيارات الرشدية والتيارات اللارشدية، دار نقاش بين تيارات مختلفة في المشرق العربي، كل واحدة منها تدعي أنها هي الممثلة للروح الرشدية الحقيقيّة.
فهل حققت القراءة المغربيّة الفلسفيّة لابن رشد هدفها الأسمى، وهو رسم صورة كاملة وحقيقيّة لابن رشد؟ هذا ما يحاول الكتاب الإجابة عليه.
