هذا بحث في مسائل الأحوال الشخصية الخاصة بالميراث في الفقه الإسلامي والقانون والقضاء، وضع لطلاب الفرقة الثالثة بكلية الحقوق وقد حرص فيه بقدر الإمكان على أن يكون سهل العبارة ميسور الفهم حتى يتحقق به النفع.
وهكذا فقد ضم القسم الأول من الكتاب والذي هو من إعداد الدكتور "جابر عبد الهادي سالم الشافعي" دراسة في مسائل الأحوال الشخصية الخاصة بالميراث، حيث تحدث عن علم الميراث والأمور التي يتحقق بها، المستحقون للميراث ومراتبهم، أحكام الحمل والمفقود، والأسير والخنثى، وولد الزنا وولد اللعان.
أما القسم الثاني للدكتور "أحمد فراج حسين" فجاء تحت عنوان أحكام الوصية حيث عرض للمسائل التي تناولها القانون رقم 71 لسنة 146 المبين لأحكام الوصية، مبيناً مآخذه الفقهية، وأقوال الفقهاء، وأدلتها في كثير من المسائل الخلافية مع المقارنة بينها وبيان أرجحها، وما جرى عليه القانون منها، مراعياً في ذلك جميعاً بقدر الأمكان وضوح الفكرة،وسهلة التغير، وحسن الترتيب.
