في هذا الكتاب (قصائد مختارة) من الأدب الصيني نقلها إلى العربية اسكندر حبش تحت عنوان (باتجاه نافذة ضائعة) مسلط فيها الضوء على واحد من أكثر الصوات الشعرية حضوراً على الساحة العالمية في سبعينيات القرن العشرين "بي داو" وإسمه الحقيقي "زاوو شينكاي" ولد في بكين العام 1949م. كان بي داو "الناطق الرسمي" بإسم جيل شعري كامل، ضحّت به الثورة الثقافة، ليجد نفسه ممنوعاً من النشر في الصين. غادر بلاده العام 1949م، بعد أحداث "تيان آن مين"، إلى أوروبا ومن ثم إلى الولايات المتحدة الأميركية، لكنه لم يتخلَ عن الكتابة بلغته الأم.
والمختارات الشعرية التي يقدمها اسكندر حبش هنا، تشهد كما يقول: على هذه الكتابة المتمسكة بالألم الذي يضغط عليها، من هنا تبدو جمله وكأنها خالية من كل أنواع الخطابات وبخاصة السياسية، لتجنح أحياناً كثيرة إلى السخرية، وإلى الإستعارات والتشابيه التي من دون شك تبدو أجمل في النص الأصلي" لقد اعتبر حبش هنا أن شعر "بي داو" دائماً يشهد على هذه الحالة الداخلية الثائرة، ليس فقط ضد نظام سياسي معين بل أيضاً "ضد كل أنواع الإنساق ذات الحقيقة المطلقة". من هنا هذه العوالم غير المحتملة التي يتحدث عنها الشاعر، والتي يحاول أن يبتعد عنها، وإن ليس بمسافة كبيرة "إذ على الشاعر أن لا يخون الألم الإنساني" ... وأخيراً ثمة حقيقة واحدة" في شعر بي داو: كل هذا الألم المفروض علينا، لذلك تأتي الكتابة كأنها الخلاص الوحيد. وأما عن الترجمات التي يضمها الكتاب فتعود إلى اختيارات من شعر داو، ما بين 1979 و 1994م. وتقترب من السبعين قصيدة جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "ليلة ماطرة" ، "ليس لديه تذكرة" ، "أنفاق" ، "خط تماس" ، "أوراق القيقب والدب الأكبر" ، "معبد قديم" ... وعناوين أخرى.
