والعقل هو الأساس لتمييز الحق عن الباطل، ومعرفة الخالق وعبادته، وهو خير دليل إلى الصراط المستقيم، وبه يتم التكليف الشرعي على الإنسان، فإن فاقِدَهُ غير مكلف شرعاً، وهذا أيضاً من منن الله تعالى على الإنسان ونعمه عليه التي تستدعي الشكر، ووجوب شُكر المنعم من حكم العقل إستقلالاً.
