يعد محور موضوع "المعرفة الإسلامية منهجاً وتصوراً" واحداً من المواضيع الثقافية التي تقوم على اسس دينية وعقلية هادفة تحاول إعادة صياغة منهج المعرفة على أسس سليمة وتقديمها إلى القارئ المسلم.
يتخذ المؤلف ثلاثة وسائل للإقناع وهي الدين الإسلامي/ الفلسفة/ المنهج العقلي "المنطق" كل ذلك يأتي في سبيل التوصل إلى حقيقة الفكر الإسلامي وطريقة اشتغاله، ومتى تكون الأفكار شرعية، أي متى تكون مقبولة كفكرة إسلامية من قبل مشرَع الإسلام؟ ولماذا تعتبر العدالة شرطاً في القيمة الموضوعية للفكرة؟ وخصوصاً أن الأحكام الشرعية تختلف عن القضايا العلمية؟ إلى آخر ذلك من إشكالات يجيب عنها الكتاب في ثلاثة مباحث: تطرق الأول منها إلى مصادر المعرفة الدينية، أما الثاني فتناول الأطروحة الإسلامية بين حقيقة الوحي واجتهاد الفقهاء ثم المبحث الثالث وتصدى لقيمة المعرفة الفقهية ومصداقيتها بكل موضوعية، وأخيراً خصص الكتاب مبحثاً لمنهج "البحث التفسيري" عبر مرحلتين: المرحلة الأولى: تحديد المضمون الأولى للنص القرآني، والمرحلة الثانية: تحديد المضمون الثانوي للنص القرآني.
