يتضمن هذا الكتاب رد علمي شامل على كتاب (أبي آدم) قصة الخليقة بين الأسطورة والحقيقة لمؤلفه الدكتور "عبد الصبور شاهين" الذي رأى أن آدم هو أبو الإنسان وليس أبا البشر الذين هم خلق حيواني كانوا قبل الإنسان، فاصطفى الله تعالى منهم آدم ليكون أبا الإنسان.
ويستدل الشيخ "عبد الصبور" بآيات كثيرة على وجود البشر قبل الإنسان، لذلك رأى الباحث والمفكر الإسلامي "جواد موسى عفاته" نقل كتاب "عبد الصبور شاهين" كاملاً، والرد عليه عند كل مناسبة يرى منها ضرورة للتعقيب أو الرد.
وكان غرضه من ذلك إطلاع القارئ على إيجابيات الكتاب جنباً إلى جنب مع سلبياته، إنصافاً لمؤلفه الدكتور "عبد الصبور"، وعقل القارئ، وعليه فلم يقسم الكتاب إلى فصول أو أبواب بل أبقاه على ترتيبه الأصلي.
