ولا أحد يعرف إن كان قد تجاوز هذه الحدود ذات يوم.. لا أحد يعرف إن كان قد أمضى ما بقي لديه من عمر ينفقه في الانتظار نفسه.. لكن المؤكد أنه وعلى مدى العقود الخمسة بتمامها وكمالها استطاع أن يتمترس في مكانه كمحارب، لم يهزم، لكنه في الوقت عينه لم ينتصر.. هكذا، وعلى ما يبدو كان يتلذذ بموقعه الذي لا يعرف طريقاً إلى الحسم.. يستمرئ ويستسيغ هذه الحالة.
كان يساوره السؤال دائماً وبشكل سري: ماذا لو جاء الفرح؟!.. ماذا لو جاء الموت؟!.. لا بد أنني سأكون محاصراً بسؤال ملحّ أكثر قسوة: ماذا بعد؟!.. الأهم أنني سأفقد متعة وشهوة الانتظار.. لذا، هنا على الحدود الفاصلة، سأظل واقفاً، أحمل رمح الشهوة والترقب، وأرفع شكري للقدر العابث.. صحيح أنه قلما تواطأ معي، إلا أنه قدم لي في بعض المرات، وهي نادرة، فرصاً لاختبار شح يباس وخواء ألا يكون المرء واقفاً على الحدود الفاصلة.
