ساءلتُ نفسي، وأنا أطالع تاريخ البشريّة المكتظّ بالصّراعات والفتن والحروب التي تتغطّى بأغطية دينيّة وتتدّثر بشعارات الإيمان بالله أو بالعمل الصّالح، تماماً كما هي صراعات أصحاب الإيديولوجيّات والمذاهب المادّية: يا تُرى، لو يظهر الأنبياء اليوم معاً، هل كانوا سيوقدون نيران الفتن والإضطرابات والمعارك والحروب فيما بينهم أو فيما بين أقوامهم؟! بل هل سيسمح أيُّ واحد منهم أن يُسيء أتباعُه أو بعضُ أتباعه إلى نبيّ آخر أو إلى أتباع نبيّ آخر؟! تُرى هل في واقعات التّاريخ أنّ نبيّاً، أيّاً كان، قد فرض على أتباع دين آخر تركَ دينهم والدّخولَ في دينه، فإنْ لم يفعلوا فجزاؤهم القتل والتّنكيل؟!
وبعد البحث والتحقيق، ودراسة سِيَر الأنبياء كافّة، وجدتُ الجواب سلبيّاً، فكلُّ واقعات تاريخ الأنبياء ونصوص الكتب السّماوية تؤكّد أنّه لا يُمكن لنبيٍّ أنْ يشنّ الغارات والعدوان والحروب على نبيّ آخر.
لذلك تولّدت عندي قناعة لا تتزعزع أنّ كلّ الحروب والفتن والمعارك التي شهدها التّاريخ، سواء كانت إيديولوجيّة أم بين المنتمين إلى أديان متعدّدة أم كانت بين المنتمين لدين واحد، هي صراعات بشر، صراعات نوازع بشريّة، من أجل شيء لا ترى الأديانُ فيه مبرّراً لإثارة الفتن والقلاقل والإضطرابات ولا لشنّ الحروب والغارات إلاّ أن تكون دفاعاً يُوقِفُ العُدوان عندَ حدّه.
وبناء على هذا، فإنّ كتابي هذا يتضمّن محاولة لإستخلاص القيم الحضاريّة من قصص القرآن الكريم عن الأنبياء الذين سبقوا ظهور الإسلام، والأمم التي غبرت على وجه التّاريخ، وكذلك من كتب الديانات الأُخرى، ولذلك جعلت عنوانه: (حوار الأديان... وحدة المبادئ العامّة والقواعد الكليّة) إذ أنّ المبادئ العامّة والقواعد الكليّة المتوحّدة بين جميع الأديان والرّسالات السّماويّة، هي التي يستطيع النّاس الإفادة منها في تواصلهم وتآلفهم وسيرهم معاً لبناء حضارة إنسانيّة جديرة بصفتها.
وفي هذا تنبيهٌ وإشارة إلى ضرورة التّلاقي الإنسانيّ اليوم، بالتّعارُف والتّعاون، بالتّوافق والإنسجام، بالتّفهُّم والتّفاهُم والحوار، بالعلم النّافع والعمل الصّالح، في مسيرة ذات إيقاع حضاريّ يُنقذ البشريّة من كوارث الحروب والصّراعات التي تدفع بالعالم إلى هاوية الدّمار والخراب، وحينذاك لا ينفع النّدّم.
