يسلط هذا الكتاب الضوء على واحد من أهم رجال التقريب والإصلاح في العالم الإسلامي وهو "الإمام موسى الصدر" أحد كبار الأئمة المجددين الذين انخرطوا في العمل من أجل الإنسان وخيره. فهو لم يكتفِ بالتنظيرات والكلام المجرد، بل خاض معركة من أجل الإصلاح وترجمة الرسالة الدينية إلى الحياة. لقد رفد هذا العلامة الفكر الإسلامي بالكثير من الإجتهادات الفقهية والكلامية، وكان من أوائل الذين ساهموا في إطلاق الحوار الإسلامي – المسيحي في لبنان ما أحدث ثورة فكرية وفلسفية عميقة في النظرة إلى الآخر، وساهم في جمع شمل الأمة الإسلامية. فجاء هذا العمل جهداً منقطع النظير، يوضح للقارىء فكرة التقريب وإيصالها إلى أذهان المسلمين بعيداً عن التعقيد والغموض، والكتاب الذي بين ايدينا يلقي نظرة على حياة وسيرة الإمام موسى الصدر الذي يعد بحق في عداد الشخصيات الأصيلة المعدودة التي كان لها قصب السبق في ميدان التقريب والذي تميز بمواقفه العلمية والسياسية في عدة بلدان إسلامية منها إيران والعراق ولبنان فكان أباً للمستضعفين خدم الدين والمجتمع في آن.
هذا، ويقسم الكاتب هذا العمل إلى سبعة فصول يتفرع عنها عدة مباحث، جاء الفصل الأول عن: السيرة الذاتية، أما الفصل الثاني فجاء عن: الإصلاح والمقاومة في لبنان، وينحو الفصل الثالث للبحث في: الخصوصيات الأخلاقية والمنهج الفكري. ويبحث الفصل الرابع في: الوحدة بين المذاهب والأديان، أما الفصل الخامس فجاء بعنوان: موسى الصدر كما يراه الآخرون. ويستعرض الفصل السادس: كتابات الإمام موسى الصدر ومحاضراته، ويأتي الفصل السابع والأخير بعنوان مصير الأطهار.
