يأتي صدور هذا الكتاب للقارئ العربي، في أكثر اللحظات التاريخية حرجاً، بين المشروع الصهيوني على الأرض العربية، والشعب العربي الفلسطيني... وفي ظل هذه الحرب من أجل الوجود، حيث يلعب جهاز الأمن الداخلي الإسرائيلي (الشين بيت-الشاباك)، الذي يعمل في الظل، هو المسؤول عن كل الممارسات الإرهابية والقمعية، التي يجري التخطيط لها في الكيان الصهيوني ضد أبناء الشعب العربي الفلسطيني، وعلى ذلك فإن الباحثين العرب في شؤون إسرائيل الأمنية، أفردوا كتابات طويلة لجهاز الأمن الإسرائيلي الخارجي (الموساد)، وبقيت المعلومات عن جهاز الأمن الداخلي الإسرائيلي (الشين بيت-الشاباك) قليلة، بل وحتى شحيحة جداً، وتأتي محاولة تسليط الأضواء على هذا الجهاز من خلال الكتاب لتسد ثغرة هامة في المكتبة العربية، وهي تمثل محاولة جادة، لأن كثيراً من المعلومات التي تمّ جمعها في هذا الكتاب هي من تجارب المجاهدين الفلسطينيين، والعرب الذين واجهوا بصلابة ضبّاط هذا الجهاز، وخبروا أساليبه وعرفوا كيف يواجهونها، بالإضافة إلى المعلومات التي كانت منشورة هنا وهناك، من قبل الأجهزة الأمنية الفلسطينية والعربية المعنية بمواجهة هذا الجهاز المختص ضد كل فلسطيني وعربي، لا لسبب إلا لأنه يعيش على أرضه ويعشق سهولها ووديانها. فمهمة هذا الجهاز قتل هذا الحب وتشريد المحب واستباحة الوطن، بالإضافة إلى بذل الجهود الكبيرة في تجميع المعلومات عن هذا الجهاز، من المراجع والمصادر المختلفة العربية منها أو الأجنبية رغم ندرتها وقد بذل المؤلفان جهوداً في محاولتهما تسليط الأضواء على الجذور الفكرية-الايديولوجية للعقول التي تدير هذا الجهاز. حيث تمّ في أبواب الكتاب الأربعة أولاً تقديم عرض شامل للبنية الهيكلية لجهاز (الشين بيت) ابتداءً من شرح نظرية الأمن الإسرائيلية وفلسفتها الخاصة، إلى تعريف بالجهاز وأقسامه المختلفة وخاصة الأجهزة المعنية بالشؤون العربية، بالإضافة إلى تبيان وكشف بعض المهمات الخاصة التي قام بها هذا الجهاز.
