لم تحظى مكتبة الطفل العربي وأدب الطفل بالإهتمام الذي حظيت به الأجيال الأخرى سواء كانت على مستوى أدب المرأة أو الأدب بشكل عام وإذا ما قورن ما كتب عن أدب الطفل في الوطن العربي مع بقيت الأمم نلاحظ الحيث الكبير الذي وقع على أطفالنا من تقصير وقلة ما قدم لهم.
ولعل ذلك يعود لأسباب كثيرة أهمها حداثة أدب الطفل بالنسبة لهذه الأمة، وقد زادت الفجوة عندما ترجع أو انعدم تقريباً دور (الكتاتيب) في المراحل الأول من عمر الطفل العربي حيث كان لهم دور كبير في رمز الطفل العربي في ملكه لغوية كبيرة تؤهله بأن يكون رجل المستقبل بإمتياز ولعل، أجد الحاجة ملحة للإهتمام في أدب الطفل عموماً والعربي خصوصاً لهذهِ السنوات لما الحق بالدنيا الثقافية العربية من تدمير وإنهيار بسبب الأوضاع الداخلية التي عصفت في الوطن العربي منذ إحتلال بغداد سنة 2003 وما تبع ذلك من خريف عربي وسيطرة (مجاميع الموت) على أجزاء من العراق والوطن العربي كل ذلك يستدعي منا إعادة ترتيب الأوراق ورسم مفاهيم وآليات واضحة تزرع براعم الأمل من جديد في حياة الطفل في الوطن العربي ولعل هذه الدراسة الموجزة تسهم ولو بشكل قليل في وضع لبنه في إحدى رياض الأطفال ومكتباته في الوطن العربي.
