يطرق موضوع البداوة والمجتمعات المستحدثة جانباً هامّاً من الحياة الإجتماعية في المجتمع البدوي، من خلال منطقة معيّنة تقطنها قبيلة بدوية: وهذا ما أدّى إلى وضع البحث في نطاق الإنثروبولوجيا، على الرغم من كوننا نتطرّق إلى الجانب السوسيولوجي أحياناً.
في الواقع، هناك تتداخل بين علم الإجتماع والإنثربولوجيا سواء من ناحية المنهج أم من ناحية الموضوع، تقوم الأنثربولوجيا بدراسة السلوك الإجتماعي في المجتمع، وقد حاولنا إستقصاء سلوك البدو في المجتمع المحلّي، أو حتى في المجتمع الخارجي من خلال الأنماط الثقافية المحلية أو حتى من خلال ظاهرة "التبدي" (من بداوة) التي غزت المناطق الحضرية أو شبه الحضرية، مثلها مثل ظاهرة "التريف" التي غزت المدينة من خلال الأكواخ القصديرية.
ثم إن مجال الإنثربولوجيا يضم أيضاً، بعض المجالات الأخرى وهي الأثنولوجيا والأثنوغرافيا وغيرها، وهي نواحي تطرقنا إليها بشكل أو بآخر في موضوعنا هذا.
إذا كانت بداية الدراسة قد ألمّت بنظرة علماء الإجتماع إلى البداوة من خلال بعض الدراسات، فذلك لأن الدراسات الأنثربولوجية بمعنى الكلمة لم تصل لأيدينا: وقد تناولنا مباشرة بعد ذلك "علم إجتماع السهب"، ولنفس السبب المذكور أيضاً.
أما بقية الدراسة فتميل كثيراً إلى الجانب الأنثربولوجي بدءاً من تحديد أصل شرائح "أولاد سيدي الشيخ"، وتوزعها وإنشطارها إلى قبائل حتى إستقرارها في الجنوب الوهراني ونفس الأمر بالنسبة لدراسة الحالة التي رّض إلى القبيلة موضوع الدراسة "المجادبة".
