إن الهدف من القراءة الأنثربولوجية للعمل الأدبي هو إعادة الأعتبار أساساً لقيمته الأنثربوثقافية، التي تشكل في الحقيقة قيمة تمييزية في خريطة الإنتاج الثقافي العالمي، طالما أن مختلف التقنيات السردية والوصفية المعتمدة في النصوص الأدبية، تكاد تكون كونية، وهو ما يمكن أن يجعل إمكانية تمييز الخصوصية والتفرد الثقافيين يسقط في التعميم والأحادية... فأن نموقع القارئ في وضعية الأنثربولوجي يعبي أن نمنحه وضعية متخيلة، يمكن من خلالها أن يسمع صوت ووضعية الأنثربولوجى التلفظية الميدانية، ويسمع ويرى بالتالي صوت وأفعال الأهالي في المجتمع؛ حيث الشخصيات في النص الأدبي انزياح تخييلي أملته ضرورة وأرغمات الكتابة السردية للأهالي، ليستخلص من تلقاء نفسه الأحداث الخام التي تشكل بنية التحليل المركزي أو بنية النسق الداخلي للنص، وهنا المقصود بوضعية الأنثربولوجي الميدانية، وضعية المؤلف الروائي أو القصصي، ما دام النص الأدبي يشكل منذ اللحظة ميداناً للاشتغال الأنثربولوجي.
إن التماهي الحاصل بين الخطابين، يقتضي اعتبار النص الأدبي السردي بمثابة الميدان الذي من خلاله يجمع القارئ الذي يحتل استعارياً وتخييلياً مكانة ووضعية الانثربولوجي الباحث عن النسق المركزي والتنظيم الداخلي للنص، معطياته الأولية التي تتشكل أساساً من شبكة من العلامات والرموز المشكلة لمختلف تيمات وقضايا النص الأنثربوثقافية، ومثلما هي الحال بالنسبة لإنتقائية الوصف الإنثوغرافي المكثف، والقراءة التأويلية الرمزية، المهيمنة منهجياً على الكتابة الأنثربولوجية، يصبح القارئ تأسيساً على هذا المسعى المنهجي، مزوداً بعدة منهجية تمكنه من انتقاء الرموز الدالة في النص، وتحديد مستويات اشتغالها وتأويلها.
