يعرض هذا الكتاب موضوع (نظرية المجموعات) في تخصيص الرياضيات انطلاقاً من كونها تمثل نموذجاً يطبق عليه موضوع المنطق ويزود الدارسين بمبادئ أساسية في الرياصيات من تعريف كلمة "مجموعة" و"اقتران" وفكرة "العدد القياسي" وقبل ذلك فكرة "المجموعة المنتهية" و"العلاقات" وأنواعها و"الأعداد الترتيبية" و"فرضيات الإختيار".
يجمع الكتاب بين أسلوبين في عرض نظرية المجموعات وهو الأسلوب الحدسي وأسلوب الفرضيات، ويقسم إلى ثمانية فصول متلاحقة هي: الفصل الأول: يتعرض للمنطق وحساب الجمل وجداول الصواب والخطأ ثم أدوات الربط والمبرهنات وأسلوب البرهنة وأنواع البراهين. أما الفصل الثاني فيتناول تعريف المجموعة والعمليات عليها ومكملة المجموعة. أما الفصل الثالث فيتعرض لفكرتي العلاقة والإقتران وخصائص العلاقات والإقترانات وخاصة علاقة التكافؤ وما ينتج عنها من صفوف التكافؤ، والتجزئة والعلاقات الناتجة. أما الفصل الرابع فيقدم لنا مجموعة من التطبيقات على الإقتران كتعريف المتتاليات إلى فكره "العائلة" وهي عائلة من المجموعات المرقمة. ثم يتعرض الفصل الخامس لفكرة المجموعة المنتهية وغير المنتهية وأنواعها وخاصة القابلة للعد وغير قابلة للعد وخصائص كل منها... وخصص الفصل السابع لعلاقة الترتيب وأنواعها الكلي والجزئي والضعيف والجيد. ويشرح الفصل الثامن فكرة العدد الترتيبي وحسابه وعلاقته بالعدد القياسي.
