تعتبر اللغة عند كل أمة من أهم الثوابت التي تقوم عليها حضارات الشعوب إذ بدونها لا يمكن أن تقوم المجتمعات، و اللغة العربية أحسن لغة عرفتها البشرية، كيف لا و قد شرفت بأن كانت لغة الذكر فكان جديرا بالعلوم اللغوية أن تجعل من النص المقدس المدونة الأولى و الحجر الأساس في كل درس تخوض غماره، ذلك لأن القاعدة إنما تستقى من المادة الممحصة التي لا محل فيها للمحال و هذا حال القرآن الكريم التي توعده الله تعالى بالحفظ في قوله:﴿ إنا نحن نزلنا الذكر و إنا له لحافظون ﴾ ثم "" إن دارس لفظة القرآن يلمس روعة ما فيها من الجمال و الفن و صورة الإبداع التي تشع منها، و ظلال المشاهد الحية و قوة الحركة فيها و مقدار ما تملكه من سيطرة على الوجدان و المخيلة، و مدى إيثارها و تأثيرها على النفس، و فتح الآفاق لتحل اللفظة محل ريشة رسام مبدع، فتصور بالألوان و الخطوط و تنقش فيها الحياة ليعيش الدارس على أرض خصبة تموج بالحركة و الإثارة و بالتصوير المبدع ."" وكل هذه السمات وغيرها التي اتسمت بها اللفظة القرآنية جعلت من النص القرآني معجزة خالدة لا تضاهى. وحديثنا عن اللفظة يجرنا إلى الحديث عن أحد المجالات التي تعنى بدراسة اللغة بدء بأصغر مكوناتها و نعني هنا الأصوات. إن المستوى الصوتي أول مستوى يتناوله دارس اللغة، فاللغة في نهاية الأمر ""أصوات يعبر بها كل قوم عن أغراضهم"" و قد تتعدد الجوانب الصوتية التي يمكن التطرق إليها كأن تكون على مستوى علم الأصوات النطقي أو الفزيولوجي أو السمعي أو التشكيلي.....إلخ.
