هذا الكتاب، تحقيق لرسالة نادرة للإمام السيوطي في علم الفرائض كُتب في صفحتها الأولى: هذا شرح الرحيبة للإمام العالم العلامة والحبر الفهامة الشيخ جلال الدين السيوطي.
اعتنى بشرحها الأستاذ إياد عبد اللطيف بن إبراهيم القيسي وقدمها بعنوان "شرح الرحيبة في علم الفرائض" جاءت على شكل منظومة شعرية قُسمت إلى أبواب في الميراث للرجال والنساء والجدات وغيرها وعلى وزن (مستفعلن) وهي من أنفع ما صُنف في هذا العلم للمبتدئ.
وقد كُتب فيها الشعر والشرح على طريقة القدامى في الشروح للمتون وكما يصفها المحقق: "... جعل الشعر باللون الأحمر، وشرحه باللون الأسود، وفيها تحريك تشكيل قليل، مسطرته 21 سطر بالصفحة، وهو مقابل على نسخة أخرى، نسخ بتاريخ 1108هـ، وناسخه، محمد بن إبراهيم الجناحي الشافعي، وقد أشاء الناسخ في بعض المواطن إلى وجود نقص في الشرح، وهي الأبيات التي لم يشرحها السيوطي في هذه النسخة".
وبناءً عليه، عمل المحقق على ضبط المتن وإدخال النظم خلال شرح القصيدة، والتفريق بين شرح السيوطي والقصيدة، وإثبات المحقق للقصيدة بالنص الصحيح المحقق على عدة نسخ، وهو ما نشره الدكتور إمام الحرم المدني عبد المحسن القاسم، والمحقق على سبع نسخ خطية، كما أثبت الخلاف في مواضعه، كما في العناوين، وخرّج جميع الأحاديث والآثار الواردة وشرح الأبيات التي لم يشرحها السيوطي مع توضيح الغريب من الكلمات...
بغية الباحث عن جمل الموارث المعروفة بـ متن الرحبية، متن في علم الفرائض، من تأليف أبي عبد الله محمد بن علي بن محمد بن الحسن الرحبي الشافعي المعروف بابن المتقنة المتوفى ٥٧٧ هـ. والمتن منظوم على بحر الرجز وزنه «مستفعلن» ست مرات وعدد أبياته ١٧٥ بيتاً. والناظم ابن المتقنة شافعي المذهب، وقام الحافظ جلال الدين السيوطي بتصنيف هذا المتن ونقده اليوم محققاً بين أيديكم.
