جاء هذا الكتاب (الوسيط في قواعد اللغة العربية النحو والأملاء) في بابين رئيسين انفرد أولهما بالنحو حيث تناول كلا من الكلمة العربية، المبني والمعرب، الأسماء الستة، المثنى، جمع المذكر السالم، جمع المؤنث السالم، الممنوع من الصرف، الأفعال الخمسة، الفاعل، المبتدأ، الخبر، كان وأخواتها، كاد وأخواتها، الحروف المشبة بالفعل، لا النافية، المفعول به، الحال، التمييز، المستثنى، المنادى، العدد، المجرورات بحرف الجر، إضافة إلى تمرينات عامة.
أما الباب الثاني (الإملاء) فقد تناول كلا من التنوين، همزة القطع، همزة الوصل الألف اللينة، التاء المبسوطة والتاء المربوطة، كتابة إذن، تنوين الإسم المنصوب، زيادة الألف، حذف الواو، حذف النون، حذف الياء، علامات الوقت أو الترقيم، الفصل والوصل، أضافة إلى تمارين قواعد الإملاء للباب الثاني.
