هذا كتاب أحاط بمسيرة الإمام محمد جواد منذ ولادته حتى وفاته وهو ابن خمسة وعشرين ربيعاً. وكانت هذه الرسالة قد انتظمت بسبعة فصول كالآتي: الفصل الأول: وعنوانه (الإمام محمد الجواد... سيرة) وتضمن المباحث الرئيسية بهذا الشكل: 1-ترجمة الإمام في لمحات غراء. 2-نشأة الإمام المثالية. 3-خصائص الإمام الإنسانية. 4-رعاية الإمام لأوليائه في ذات الله. 5-المناخ العرفاني في سلوك الإمام. 6-الإمام في تقييم الأعلام.
الفصل الثاني: وعنوانه (الإمام محمد الجواد.. وعصر السلاطين)، وتضمن بدراسة موضوعية للمباحث الآتية: 1-الإمام وظواهر عصر السلاطين. 2-الإمام محمد الجواد في حياة المأمون. 3-الإمام محمد الجواد في عصر المعتصم. 4-الإمام محمد الجواد.. والقائم بالأمر.
الفصل الثالث: وعنوانع (الإمام محمد الجواد.. معجزة) وتضمن بالبحث الرائد الدقيق الظواهر الآتية: 1-الإمام في سن الصبا.. ظاهرة إعجازية. 2-الإمام محمد الجواد في خضم الاختبار العلمي. 3-اضطراب النظام العباسي من الإمام المعجزة. 4-استقراء الغيب المجهول لدى الإمام.
الفصل الرابع: وعنوانه (الإمام محمد الجواد.. تراثياً)، وتضمن بالتركيز المعمق المباحث الآتية: 1-علم أهل البيت في تراث الإمام الجواد. 2-مرويات الإمام محمد الجواد عن: رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وأمير المؤمنين رضي الله عنه أنموذجاً. 3-الدور الريادي لتلامذة الإمام -الرواة والمؤلفين- في نشر تراثه الخالد. 4-الألفاظ الجارية مجرى الأمثال في تراث الإمام.
الفصل الخامس: وعنوانه (الإمام محمد الجواد..فقاهة). وقد بحث الموضوعات الآتية: 1-مسائل ذات أهمية خاصة. 2-يحيى بن أكثم في مسائلة الإمام. 3-علل الأحكام عند الإمام.
الفصل السادس: وعنوانه (الإمام محمد الجواد... منظراً) وتضمن العنوانات الآتية: 1-بيئة علم الكلام في عصر الإمام. 2-قضايا التوحيد الإلهي. 3-الإمام يناظر في السنة.
الفصل السابع: وعنوانه (الإمام محمد الجواد...شهيداً). وقد أعطى تفصيلات مكثفة عن المباحث الآتية: 1-الإمام محمد الجواد يتوقع الشهادة. 2-كيفية اغتيال الإمام. 3-دوافع اغتيال الإمام. 4-تشييه جثمان الإمام ودفنه. 5-مشهد الإمام في الكاظمية المقدسة.
