أيلول عائدٌ، وأنتِ لستِ هنا كي تستقبليه. الشّوقُ يا سوسن... لم أكن أعلم أنّ الشّوق مرضٌ مميت. كلّ الجروح فـِيَّ يمكن رتقُها بغُرَز النّسيان، إلّا فقدك، لن يني هذا الجرح يتّسع كلّما تذكّرتُ أنّي سأحيا العمر من دونك. قلبي يا سوسن يصطلي بالشّوق إليكِ، وهذا الحبر الذي خاصمتُه منذ مدّة، لم أكن لأعود إليه لولاك. من سيترنّم بأغنية شهر ميلادك حال عودته قريبًا؟ هل كانت فيروز تعلم حين غنّت ورقه الأصفر أنّ أيلول سيرجع وإنتِ بعيدة بغيمة حزينة قمرها وحيد؟ سيُبكيني شتاء أيلول يا قمري السّعيد. سيُبقيني وحدي في العتمة والبرد، أحاول إنارة الشّموع سُدًى. أسقمني البحث في العيون الملوّنة عن أثرٍ لعينيكِ يا سوسن. أحيانًا، أتمنّى لو أنّ الرّصاصة اصطفتني أنا لا أنتِ. أنا التي كان يجبُ أن أُقتَل. الرّصاصة كانت ستكون الخلاص مـمّا أعيشه الآن، وأنا الآن في عداد الأموات.
