"بداية الأصولي" كتاب يأتي ضمن سلسلة مدارج العلماء، وهو يمتاز عن أقرانه من هذا العلم بما يلي: أولاً: يعد الكتاب متناً معتمداً في فنه عند المختصين. ثانياً: يعتبر الكتاب أولى عتبات العلم في فنه. ثالثاً: الامتزاج بين القديم بأصالته والجديد بمعاصرته، وقد بذل في سبيل هذا التمازج التالي: أ-تم تخصيص معلومات كل باب على طريقة التشجير، ليسهل تصورها قبل الولوج في الباب. ب-رتب النص الأصلي -بعد أن كان مرصوصاً -ورقم مع تغيير ما يلزم، ووضع له عناوين جانبية حين يتطلب الأمر. ج-قدم لكل قاعدة بمثال يوضحها وأغلب الأمثلة من الأحاديث الصحيحة. د-ختم كل باب بأبيات تنظم ما ورد في الباب من معلومات، ليسهل للراغب حفظها.
