يأتي هذا الكتاب ضمن مدارج العلماء وهو يتميز عن غيره بما يلي: يعد الكتاب متناً معتمداً في فنه عند المختصين، يعتبر الكتاب أولى عتبات العلم في فنه، الامتزاج بين القديم بأصالته والجديد بمعاصرته، وقد بذل في سبيل هذا التمازج التالي:
أ-لخصت معلومات كل باب على طريقة التشجير، ليسهل تصورها قبل الولوج في الباب.
ب-رتبت النص الأصلي -بعد أن كان مرصوصاً- ورقم مع تغيير ما يلزم، ووضع له عناوين جانبية حين يتطلب الأمر.
ج-وتم زيادة بعض المسائل التي لم يتعرض لها المتن كصلاة العيدين والاستسقاء وصلاة المسافر وقصر الصلاة وجمعها وصلاة الخوف.
د-ختم كل باب بأبيات تنظم ما ورد في الباب من معلومات، ليسهل للراغب حفظها.
هذا، وإن النص المختار هو "متن المقدمة العشماوية" لعبد الباري العشماوي الرفاعي، والنظم المنتقى هو "الدرة الثمينة في مذهب عالم المدينة" للشيخ عثمان ابن سند الوائلي الفيلكاوي.
