لمعت عيناها، تستعيد تفاصيل الحلم، وخيم صوتها كغلالة شفافة عطرة، ترسم صور السرد: "رأيتني في جنة خضراء، تحيطني خمائل بثمار متدلية، شهية وملونة، كنت أصغي للحفيف الرائق، لكني حينما رفعت رأسي تعجبت أن السماء ترتدي ثوب المساء، رغم عتمتها فاتنة، صافيّة، تبرق في وجنتها النجوم، أطلت النظر للقمر المكتمل المتوهج، نبت شيء في قلبي، فإذا بالقمر ينزل إلى حجري، صرت أشهق عجباً وحباً وأُنساً وحيرة، وحينما نزلت من بعده ثلاثة نجوم أخرى لتنضم إليه، جرى نهر من العتمة في المكان، وصرت وحيدة بلا قمر ولا نجوم".
