وعلى هذا الأساس جاء الكتاب في تناول الأخلاق تناولاً يبدأ من اليونان ثم يقف عند مساهمات فلاسفة العصر الوسيط ثم يخوض في تحولات الخطاب الأخلاقي من خلال علاقة الأخلاق بالسياسة والقانون والبيوتيقا وتداخلاتها بالبيئة وما أصاب الفكر من تحولات كبرى أثرت على الكوكب بكل ما فيه من كائنات حية.
وهو يحاول أن يخوض في رهانات الواقع الجديد بكل أطيافه ويطرح حلولاً حول العقد الإجتماعي والأخلاقي.
