لكل دراسة علمية هدف أو مجموعة أهداف يرمي إلى الوصول إليها معد الدراسة، والدراسة التي نحن بصددها تسعى إلى فهم وتقصي ظاهرة إجرامية لم تدرس بعد ويجهلها الكثير من أفراد المجتمع، ولقد قام الباحث بهذه الدراسة محاولاً تحقيق مجموعة من الأهداف تتمثل بالآتي: أولاً: وضع تعريف جامع مانع لجريمة الإتجار بالبشر، ثانياً: تحديد الطبيعة القانونية لجريمة الإتجار بالبشر، ثالثاً: بيان الأركان الخاصة لجريمة الإتجار بالبشر، كجريمة ذات طابع وطني أو ذات طابع عبر وطني، رابعاً: تعريف الركن الدولي لجريمة الإتجار بالبشر الذي يميزها كجريمة ضد الإنسانية عن ممارسات العبودية التي يقترفها الأشخاص والجماعات الإجرامية المنظمة التي تعد من إختصاص المحاكم الجنائية الوطنية بالدرجة الأولى.
خامساً: تسمية الجرائم المرتبطة بجريمة الإتجار بالبشر من جرائم لازمة للسلوك الإجرامي فيها، وجرائم لاحقة أو متممة لها، سادساً: تقديم توصيات متعلقة بتعديل النصوص القانونية الخاصة بمكافحة الإتجار بالبشر وقدر تعلق الأمر بصور السلوك الإجرامي المميز لهذه الجريمة ووسائل إرتكابها وعلى نحو يمنع إفلات الجناة من العقاب.
