وفي المقالة الأولى من هذا الكتاب معلومات وفيرة عن أول ظهور الطب بالجزر اليونانية والأطباء الذين شاركوا في تطويره في القرن الرابع قبل الميلاد.
كما فيه معلومات عن تعليم الطب بطريقة إبقراط وجالينوس، وعن مناهج تعليمه في مدرسة الإسكندرية المتأخرة، وأسلوب تعليمه في العصور الإسلامية حتى القرن الخامس الهجري.
أما الفقرة الثانية فقد كرسها ابن رضوان في نقد كل من حنين ابن اسحاق وأبي بكر محمد بن زكريا الرازي فيما كتباه من كتب الطب وعلومه الأساسية الأخرى المحققة.
