في عودة إلى الطب النبوي والطب العربي القديم قام الاستاذ ( عبد السلام هاشم) بتحقيق هذا الكتاب الذي وضعه (أبو الحسن الكحال) في الطب والتداوي. ففي العشرة أبواب التى تكون منها الكتاب تناول المؤلف الأحاديث الواردة في ذكر الأمراض وكيفية معالجتها ، أيضا الأحاديث التى تتحدث فيما يتعلق بالصحة كوقاية وطريقة للحفاظ على الصحة ، يحدثنا المؤلف أيضا في تعريف وبيان الصحة و المرض والآحاديث الواردة فيهما. لا يقتصر الكتاب على هذا فقط وإنما يضع فصلا للأدوية وبعض منافعها. بالاضافة إلى هذه الأحاديث التى تعليقت بالمرض وكيفية التداوي منها نجد آحاديث في عياة المريض وفضل زيارته.. إلى جانب ذكر الخلاف بين مؤيدي التداوي ومؤيدي تركه.
