عن حياته
تميز بأدوار الشر في أعماله. كانت بدايته في المجال الفني بعام 1963. عمل بالإضافة إلى عمله الفني كمراقب لمحطات المياه بوزارة الكهرباء والماء، ثم محاسبًا في الوزارة نفسها، وتقاعد عام 1981.
اللزمات
اشتهر في اللزمات في مسلسلاته التراثية، ولا يمر مسلسل إلا ويفاجئ المشاهدين بلزمة غالبًا ماتكون ذات طابع تحدي لخصومه، ولاتخلو من الفكاهة. ومن أشهر لزماته:

(اضطرابات) ديوان شعري لم يعطه "خالد العبيد" هوية معينة فكان مزيجاً من مشاعر متناثرة مما اختلج بين اضلعه من شياطين الشعر نثرها بين دفتي كتاب ما بين "خاطرة وأقوال ومقال" فانقسم الكتاب إلى ثورتين عارمتين هما:
"ثورة إسلامية عربية وثورة عاطفية وردية، فجمعت –والكلام للشاعر- بين حب العروبة والإسلام وبين الحب الوردي والذي تعرفونه وأعرفه جيداً..."
تحت عنوان (سأبحث عنها) يقول الشاعر: "سأبحث عنها في كل مكان/ في كل مكان/ سابحث عنها تحت هشيم الورد/ وفوق ركام الغمام/ وسأبحث عنها بين هديل الحمام/ وزخات المطر/ حتى الشجر/ وسطح القمر/ سأبحث عنها وسط كل زهرة/ داخل الياسمين/ والكادي/ في رحيق زهرة الكاميليا الآثرة(...) إلى ان أجدها".
انقسم الكتاب إلى فصلين: جاء الفصل الأول بعنوان ثورة العروبة الإسلامية، أما الفصل الثاني فجاء بعنوان: ثورة الحب العاطفية وقد تضمن الفصلان قصائد شعر وأقوال وخواطر متنوعة.
