لاقترابه من لغة الصمت، ولخلقه لغة أخرى، تنطوي على التلميح والإشارة والدلالة المكثّفة، صار شعر الهايكو الياباني الأقرب إلى نبض الإنسانيّة، وإلى روح العصر... هذا العصر السريع بكل ضجيجه الذي بات يغطي مساحات الخيال والرؤيا، ويعصف بالتأمل والهدأة والإطلالة الرومانتيكيّة، ويفتك بالوقت لدى البشريّة، مما جعلها هي نفسها أداة جامدة ذهنيّة، تتلقى طوفان الاستهلاك الذي لا يجارى، طوفان ضيّع وقت الإنسان وجماليّاته وبصيرته في طاحون لا يفتأ يقدّم المزيد من التقنيّات والمبتكرات، وما على الإنسان الحديث سوى الذهول والتلقّي لهذا الصنيع. من هنا يشكّل شعر الهايكو الياباني، وهو يستعاد أو يكتب في اليابان، ويقدّم في أوروبا وفي العالم العربي، على هيئة ومضات وإلماحات اختزالية وشذرات بارقة، رؤيوية، تشكّل مع الهايكو القديم والمستعاد معادلا نفسيّا لعصرنا، هذا العصر الذي بدا عالي النبرة بطلاقته الآليّة وقوّة فصاحته التكنولوجيّة. من هنا أمست قصائد الهايكو الياباني نصوصا شعريّة قائمة بذاتها، تختزن صوراً ناطقة، صوراً تحتكم إلى منطق الحكمة والأفكار والتصوّرات القديمة حول علاقة العين التاريخية الراصدة للإنسان بتحوّلات النبات والحيوان والأزمنة.
