أنا والكون والله والشكّ توحدنا، هكذا اخترعت ذاتي من لاشيء إلى لا شيء، لأستنبط شيئاً يجعلني أفهم لغز الذات، عندما تكتشف ذاتك في البدء، يمكنك فهم عالمك، فتتوحد معه، كنت منذ صغري، عند بدء إصابتي بعدوى الجدري، كان آخر لونٍ رأيتهُ بحياتي، هو اللون الأحمر، فقد كسوني برداءٍ أحمر اللون ليميزوني عن بقية الأطفال، حتى لا أُعْديهم، منذ ذلك الحين، فطنتُ إلى أنه كُتِبَ عَليّ ألا أعيش بين الناس بانعتاقٍ كما يعيش الآخرون، فقد ميزني الثوب الأحمر من وقتها وفصل بيني وبين الكون، وسلب حريتي، تَقبلتُ تلك الحقيقة الصارمة، ولكن لم أستسلم لمشيئتها التي فرضت عَليّ الحياة في العتمة، فقد أُصْبتُ بعدها بالعمى وانطفأ الضوء، وساد الظلام للأبد. كانت تلك الخطوة الأولى في الألفِ خطوة لعالمٍ لا يضيئهُ النور، لا لون، لا ضياء، لا قراءة، تساوى عندي الليل بالنهار، تلاشت الوجوه، انعدمت الطبيعة، لن أرى امرأة، ولن أتغزل بجمالِ، ولن أشهد نهر يجري، أو طائر في السماء، لكني أضحيتُ بعدها بسنينٍ من عمري مثل الله، أبصر كلّ شيء ولا أحدٌ يراني.
فَتَشوا قبري، فماذا وجدوا غير تزاحم الأضداد؟ وقطعوا رأس تمثالي… نهبوا مدينتي، وأحرقوا كتبي، ولكنهم عجزوا عن مقارعة عقلي.
